How we approach custom GIS development
Custom projects use the same stack and habits as our own products: PostGIS underneath, open formats in between, and web and field apps on top. Four principles shape each engagement.

Start with the decision
We begin with the people who will use the map and the decisions it should support, then work back to the data, the schema and the screens.

Get the data model right
A clear spatial model in PostGIS, with validation rules and a record of where each feature came from, keeps later maps, APIs and reports simple.

Build on open standards
GeoJSON, vector tiles, PostGIS and MapLibre keep data portable between tools and teams, during the project and after it ends.

Deploy where the work happens
Self-hosted on an organisation’s own infrastructure or run in the cloud, with documentation, monitoring and support after handover.
